In September Llama Adventures was asked to support the village cricket Twenty20
Finals at Derby County Cricket Ground, supporting Reigate Priory Cricket Club
with mascots (they are called the llamas).
Sid and Flash supported very well, enjoying the crowds, the cricket and
exploring all areas of the ground. They
starred on Sky Sports 3 who provided the TV coverage for the day. Sid, deciding
that a camera might make a tasty snack managed to put his nose right into the cameraman's
lens!

In September three of the boys (Sid, Gordon and Flash) went to the Royal
Berkshire Show for the first time. Here the British Llama Society has a
marquee. The boys entered lots of classes and swept many prizes, including
first, second and fourth in the fleece on hoof and a third in the gelding
(clever Gordon) - Sid took the most ‘firsts’ and was even voted most
handsome llama by the crowds. He was one of the few llamas chosen to go
into the main ring for the Grand parade finale.
Walking with Llamas .... Nottinghamshire Trek
September 2009
This year we had everything! Good weather, a good turnout and a
smashing tea.
Twelve people and llamas turned out for a trek through this hidden bit of rural
countryside within a built up area near the M1. We set off at 14.30 and
arrived back at 16.30, having caused a stir with a few walkers along the way.
The route included a fairly steep decent down the bank of a disused railway
bank, which had a couple of people off their feet, and one loose llama but no
harm done.
We then gathered again on the lawn to entertain our neighbours, who were invited
to join the llama folk for a Macmillan Cancer Fund tea. A collection was
made which raised £104.00 - many thanks for the generous contributions.
Many thanks to those who attended for their support. This makes the
organising so worthwhile.

Whittington Countryside Fair was a grand event – an annual country event held
not far from Lichfield. Porridge and Flash were again proudly interacting
with the crowds. We hope to be there again in 2010 – a date for your
diaries Saturday 4th September 2010.
June 2009
Flash and Porridge spent a very pleasant afternoon out at the Kingstone village
fete on Sunday 14th June meeting lots of new friends. They were seen in
the village the previous evening also along with Gordon when they went to look
round the village as part of their preparation.
May 2009
Born in Devon in 2006 and having spent the last 12 months in Dorset
under going intensive trekking training at the start of May six Llamas
arrived at the new home in Staffordshire.
At times it has been a very wet, but all 'the Boys' seemed to have settled into their new home. They have been seen walking out round the local area a number of times and three [Sidney, Flash & Porridge] even made it to meet the local Congregation after their Sunday service in Bramshall the other Sunday.
